Milly Peck applies a cartoonish register to her scenes, graphically rendering images from the everyday in chunky outlines, creating scenes which are often exaggerated or comical. She uses a router to carve out lines in MDF, enjoying the potential for error in this manual process. The resulting sculptural installations are playful and ambiguous, prompting us to reconsider and reimagine our understanding of the things we use and consume.
Milly Peck received an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London (2016). Recent exhibitions include The Slip, Tintype Gallery, London (2018), Pressure Head, Assembly Point, London (2018), Launch Pad: Th-th-th that’s all folks!, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester (2018), Refinding: Jessie Flood-Paddock with Kenneth Armitage, The Tetley, Leeds (2017), Mudhook, Tintype Gallery, London (2017) and Top Bantz, The Royal Standard, Liverpool (2016).
